black-business-people-pfThe Financial Business Training Institute (FBTI) is a charitable non-profit organization that operates out its headquarters in Orlando, Florida. FBTI’s main objective is to assist businesses owners grow by expanding their business relationships, exposing them to contracting opportunities and making resources relevant to their industry available through Training, Education, Fundraising, and Networking opportunities. The FBTI’s primary target population is minority and underserved businesses throughout the state of Florida.

The FBTI understands that small businesses make up the majority of U.S. firms and also account for the majority of job creation in the United States. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, “Minority businesses make up almost 15 percent of the 28 million small businesses and employ 5.9 million workers in the U.S.” This growth is contributed by factors including growth of the minority labor force, overall population and increased immigration.

The FBTI is a partnership organization with diverse representatives such as but not limited to specialized contracted consultants, CPAs and strategic management professionals who work alongside the FBTI staff. Together, these partnership organizations bring a considerable amount of expertise and add valuable experience in the areas such as financial capacity, business strategies, legal, marketing and management. Representatives ensure that the clients’ initiatives are aligned with their overall business development strategies. This combined leadership brings a tremendous depth of expertise and resources that uniquely qualify the FBTI to meet the needs of the clients through many of our specialized Business Training sessions.

FBTI Organizational Structure

The FBTI Board of Directors manages the affairs of the organization by formulating and determining policies for the administration and development of the corporation.  Board members represent various sectors such as but not limited to financial and educational institutions, community development entities, and small businesses.  The FBTI Board is led by a chairperson elected prior to the start of each fiscal year. Our Mission

The FBTI’s mission is to develop, promote and train minority and underserved businesses by maximizing their financial capabilities while improving their operations. Our primary objective is to implement and facilitate business and economic development initiatives starting in the Central Florida area and expand throughout the state of Florida. The organization is primarily interested in projects and activities that have a community development, business investments, charitable, or an educational focus. These projects and/or activities should assist businesses, such as but not limited to, promote and obtain contributions by financial institutions and others, foster opportunities  to conduct educational programs that help business owners to prepare business plans and set up marketing, management, and accounting systems and to be an advocate for small business development and growth.

Financial Management Consulting

FBTI’s Financial Management Consulting and business development services are designed to assess the financial viability of client firms, recommend constructive corrective action to increase that financial viability, and position firms to sustain short and long-term growth in order to create and sustain jobs.

Business Management Consulting Services

The objective of Business Management Consulting Services is to help build management capacity within firms thereby mitigating risk to the firm, its clients, and its lenders.

Money Smart Program

FBTI will use the Money Smart for Small Business curricula as the base for the financial training. This financial literacy educational program focuses on providing basic financial literacy concepts to micro businesses in underserved census areas.

Signature Events

FBTI, a charitable organization, hosts’ business development and networking events for our target market businesses of small, minority and underserved small firms.
